Hey Data Lovers! — Nick here.
I found some incredible products that nearly all had 10x search volume since 2018. Insane I know.
Let’s get into the numbers! But first:
Now, let’s see some charts ↓
📈 Products on the Rise
Product #1 - Pimple Patches (+2,400%)
Stop the pop! Gone are the days of leaving a pimple exposed to the world, consumers are now utilizing these small band-aid-like patches to conceal and heal their facial blemishes.
Pimple patches, more clinically known as hydrocolloid patches protect your skin from absorbing the bacteria from pus, oil, or dirt on your fingers.
This can prevent scarring and speed up the healing process says Sarasota Medical.
Who’s Doing It?:
MightyPatch - Founded in 2017 and a clear leader in this space, Mighty Patch announced it had been acquired for $630m in September.
Starface - While most brands’ pimple patches look sleek and low profile, Starface is doing it differently with colorful star-shaped patches.
Product #2 - Washable Rugs (+809%)
Don’t whine over spilled wine. Spills, dirt, and dog 💩 are all ways to ruin a nice rug. Cleaning takes forever, and it costs too much to have it professionally done. That’s the magic of a washable rug.
These rugs work by combining a machine-washable top layer with a lower rubbery mat piece. Whenever you have a spill, just take off the top and throw it in the washing machine!
It’s so simple it has you asking, “Why didn’t I think of that?”
Who’s Doing It?:
Ruggable - Ruggable is driving over 5 million website visitors a month from their MASSIVE Facebook ad campaigns. Currently, they have over 1,500 live ads on Facebook, view them all here.
RugsUSA - With an already large selection of standard rugs, RugsUSA began offering washable rugs to compete with Ruggable.
📰 Industry Shift
Lab Grown Diamonds (+1,316%)
Lab coats are a girl’s best friend. Put on your safety goggles, we’re creating precious gemstones today!
It starts by placing a “seed” (flat piece) from another diamond into a vacuum chamber and filling it with carbon-rich gasses. The gas is heated to 1,500F which causes the release of carbon pieces onto the seed. That grows a diamond!
Check out this video if you want to see the process.
According to Forbes, diamonds that were created in labs can be up to 50% cheaper.
Along with the price, traditional natural diamonds have developed a poor reputation due to reports of conflict diamond mining, this includes child labor and attribution to insurgency in war-stricken regions.
Who’s Doing It?:
Eterneva - Eterneva is doing something truly special. They allow customers to create diamonds from the ashes of loved ones and pets.
🚨 Business Radar
On Cloud Shoes (+1,460%)
It’s like walking on a cloud. If you haven’t noticed these new-style tennis shoes with a ‘QC’ logo everywhere, you will now.
These cushy runners have been trending due to their proprietary soles which give the shoe a soft landing on pavement and a strong push-off.
On Running has nearly doubled its revenue every year since 2019 and has just under $1B in sales for the previous 12-month period.
📝 Quote of the Day
“Diligence is the mother of good luck.” — Benjamin Franklin
Luck plays a big part in success, but it’s never the main factor.
Diligently working increases the odds that luck will come your way.
Then when it finally strikes, everyone can say, “you just got lucky” and while part of that is true, you were an overnight success years in the making.
