📈 Products on the Rise
Product #1 - Wireless Bras (+70%)
Comfort Meets Support! Wireless bras are quickly gaining traction as more people opt for supportive yet comfortable undergarments.
Wireless bras, also known as bralettes, are designed without underwires.
The absence of an underwire means it digs less into the skin which provides greater mobility for daily activities.
This makes the product a cyclical trend that spikes during the summer.
Another catalyst for this trend is not only that wireless bras are much more comfortable, but that it also aligns with the body positivity movement, embracing diverse body shapes and sizes.
As more people prioritize feeling good in their clothing while still being able to participate in activities, it's no surprise that wireless bras are becoming a staple in many wardrobes.
Who’s Doing It?
Knix - With a focus on body positivity and inclusivity, Knix has successfully tapped into the growing demand for wireless bras. The company has over 2M customers and their website is driving 3.6M visitors per month.
Lively - “A cloud for boobs” is the slogan for Lively, a wireless bra company that is doing an estimated $5M per year.
Product #2 - Flavored Water (+92%)
Hydration with a Twist! The popularity of flavored water has surged over the past 10 years, providing a healthier and more enjoyable alternative to sugary beverages.
Flavored water has gained traction as a go-to hydration choice for health-conscious consumers seeking variety in their drinks.
With public recognition of how bad soda is for health, many consumers have struggled to switch entirely to plain water. This is where flavored water has gained popularity.
It’s worth noting that companies aiming to promote eco-friendly packaging such as reusable water bottles have been appealing to buyers more than ever.
Grand View Research reported that “millennials and Gen Z, in the developed economies, such as the U.S., are spending more on flavored water.”
This indicates that the younger demographic has been leading this trend.
Citrus and berry flavors are the most sought out flavors amongst this group of consumers.
Who’s Doing It?
Cirkul - By offering a water bottle with the ability to adjust flavor intensity, Cirkul has exploded in popularity in the past few years. The company was recently valued at $1B. Check out my previous report on Cirkul here.
📰 Industry Shift
Nicotine-Free Vapes (+418%)
Clearing the air! The popularity of nicotine-free vapes is skyrocketing as health-conscious individuals seek alternatives to nicotine-based vaping products.
Nicotine-free vapes are electronic devices without the use of nicotine, the addictive substance found in traditional cigarettes and many e-cigarettes.
This provides the sensation of vaping without the addictive substance.
As more users who became addicted to vaping in recent years seek ways to quit, nicotine-free vapes are becoming an appealing option for the first steps to putting down the vape for good.
The rise in popularity of nicotine-free vapes is a testament to the growing awareness of the potential health risks associated with nicotine consumption.
🚨 Business Radar
HexClad (+3,800%)
Cooking up cash! The innovative and stylish HexClad cookware has blown up and is quickly becoming the go-to choice for both professional chefs and home cooks alike
HexClad is a unique hybrid cookware that, “brings together the performance of stainless steel, the durability of cast iron, and the convenience of nonstick.”
The patented hexagonal design not only looks awesome but also offers a range of benefits, including:
Durability
Even heating
Non-stick convenience
With an average pan going for $100-$200, they sit at the higher end of the market.
Are people buying it?
Absolutely. I tracked the company’s sales for a day and determined HexClad is doing between $225k-$275k per day from their eCommerce site alone. This does not include their retail sales with companies like Amazon and Costco.
How do they do it?
For starters, the products have a reputation of being high-quality and innovative cookware. “We like to say, we design this for the greatest chefs in the world, which means it’s going to be absolutely perfect in your home kitchen.”, said Danny Winer, co-founder and CEO of HexClad.
But their marketing is also incredible.
The company recently had a dream collaboration with Gordan Ramsy and HexClad’s products are now featured in Ramsy’s cookbooks, shows, and some of his restaurants.
They also have some great Facebook ads, here is a link to their ad library of 180 live ads.
HexClad projected their annual sales to be $125M for 2022, based on the analysis I conducted, their 2023 sales will likely be between $175M-$250M.
